I agree that it is unfair and fickle. But aging is objectively inevitable. Losing your wealth isn't a guarantee, even if it is likely. Which is debatable for people in higher income brackets.
It's also not inherently objectifying to want a certain lifestyle with your partner/family. Wanting your partner to "stay young" is only objectifying.
Comparing two shallow ways of living is not really the message of my article, though. I basically agree with what you're saying. But it does feel a bit like your views on women are skewed.
