I love this essay! Great work. But I just want to make a little note here, for people who might be less experienced and misinterpret this line.

Predators don't always appear as "active." They can be shy and act in really subtle ways to catch your attention, especially if they think that's your interest.

If you're in the dating scene, don't assume that someone is "safe" because you initiated the pursual. The most skilled abusers and assholes (whether women or men) are the ones that make you feel like you wanted/asked for it, right from the start.
